Who saw the eclipse yesterday?! Whether you used official eclipse glasses or made your own makeshift box viewers as some of our employees here at CLI did, you probably were pretty impressed by the view. It was amazing to see — not just what was happening so high above us, but what was going on down here on earth, too. People came together to experience this awe-inspiring act of nature.
The eclipse serves as a reminder of just how small we really are, and how immense the world around us is. It also reminds us that, at the end of the day, we are all human. We are all striving for the same ultimate goals in life — to be healthy, happy and cared for, and to be able to make a difference, no matter how small, on this planet.
Everyone — regardless of perceived ability level, age, background, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity — all people deserve an equal chance to realize their dreams. Everyone deserves the opportunity to be successful. Everyone deserves to be included.
When you think of the vastness of the universe, it seems so petty to judge people around us on the basis of their difference. Looking from miles above the earth, we really don’t look that different at all.
