Community Living, Inc.
Yesterday, we were invited back to provide a training session for the current class of police cadets, using the Maryland Department of Disabilities curriculum titled "Law Enforcement and People with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities." We are grateful to continue this collaboration and help raise awareness of people with IDD in our community. Our CEO, Michael Planz, Quality Assurance Director Sandy Reisinger, and Jena Ramcharran, our Community Outreach and Quality Assurance Coordinator, talk to the cadets. Two self-advocates, Crystal and Katie, also joined us to help train the cadets on scenarios for how to interact with people with IDD and role-played different scenarios they may encounter. Thank you to the Frederick Police Department for having us!#frederickcountymaryland #frederickcountypolice #policetraining #policetrainingacademy #selfadvocates #advocacy #advocacymatters #CommunityLearning ...
