If you get WHAG, you might have seen CLI on the news recently. Last week, we were featured on the TV station twice — for two very different reasons.

The first story was about our transportation initiative. Many of you probably remember our Giving Tuesday fundraiser last November. We were so grateful for the donations we received for a new van. Since then, we’ve been continuing our efforts to raise funds, not just for one vehicle, but to hopefully eventually replace our entire fleet. As the news story states, our vehicles are aging — the average age is 12 years — and the cost of maintenance and upkeep is high. Unfortunately, the article mistakenly identified our ongoing efforts as a Giving Tuesday campaign. To clarify, Giving Tuesday was just one of the avenues through which we started fundraising for our transportation initiative.

We recognize this as an ongoing effort and, through the continued generosity of our community, hope to be able to reach our goal of replacing the fleet in the near future. To make a donation toward our transportation initiative, please visit us here and be sure to email Elaina at elainac@communitylivinginc.org to let us know that’s where you’d like your gift to go.

The second story featuring CLI on WHAG was about the Community Forum Night. The Forum Night, started back in November by CLI and the Grant Seeker’s Resource Center of FCPL, has grown significantly since its inception. We just recently welcomed three more organizations and, at more than 20 participating agencies and nonprofits, we feel we have so much to offer the community. Each member organization does so much good in the community, and CLI is beyond proud to be able to be a part of such a worthwhile monthly event. For more information about the Community Forum Night and how you can attend, or for information on sponsoring an upcoming event, contact Elaina via email or at 301-663-8811.
