A few exciting announcements!

Posted by on 4:34 pm in Events | 0 comments

It seems like things just keep getting more exciting here at CLI. Here’s the latest bit of good news: Musician Alexander Gallows will be performing at our upcoming Community Fun Day! Check out some of his music here, and you’ll know why we’re pretty psyched to have him. The Fun Day is going to be a blast — we’ll have food, vendors (Hippy Chick Hummus, Wegmans, WDVM, Styles by Sue, LuLaRoe by Cindy — just to name a few), face-painting, frozen yogurt from Menchie’s, adoptable animals from the Frederick...

Come on out and enjoy a day of summer fun while supporting CLI — can’t get much better than that! See the flyer below for...

Wow, what a year it’s been so far! From our Spring Fling to our summer walk, we’ve enjoyed every bit of every season. We were so happy to be able to share our first-ever #CommunityStrong Walk with our community supporters, and it really was a blast! We are so grateful for the support of our friends in Frederick and beyond who came out to spend the morning with us. We are also extremely thankful for the wonderful folks at Attaboy Beer, who donated all sales of their Creek Life beer on the day of the walk to CLI. Thank you! We are...

Be kind — there’s no better way to be

Posted by on 3:31 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

It’s hard to believe it’s already mid-June. Our walk is just under two weeks away! Time really is speeding by. As summer gets into full swing, we get to enjoy more activities outdoors in the long hours of sunlight each day brings. This time of year is perfect for outtings, barbecues, and family events. And with more people outside, we can enjoy the company of new and familiar faces alike. Summertime is great for meeting new people. And that’s why it’s also a good time for a friendly reminder: All people are worthy of...

Ways to help

Posted by on 4:09 pm in Events, Uncategorized | 0 comments

One of the most common questions we are asked here at CLI is, “How can I help?” To tell you the truth, we love this question. Here’s why: 1) It allows us the opportunity to explain what we do in more detail. 2) It gives us the chance to match giving opportunities with community members. We believe everyone is different. No two people will come to the table with the same experiences, abilities or interests. While some are more able to offer their time, others might be more able to offer a monetary contribution. That’s...

Our first-ever 5K fundraiser, #CommunityStrong Walk 2017, is just over a month away. We are so excited! We can’t wait to join our amazing community and stroll along the scenic Carroll Creek. But on this walk, we’ll be doing more than taking in the sights and sounds of beautiful downtown Frederick. We’ll be raising awareness about what CLI does and the importance of inclusion to our society. Inclusion means so much to our organization. It’s more than just something we advocate for — it’s something we are...

Happy National Nurses Week!

Posted by on 7:01 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

This week is National Nurses Week, corresponding with Florence Nightingale’s birthday May 12. This annual observation commemorates the men and women who work hard to safegaurd our health on a daily basis. They work long hours, not just to provide medical aid and expertise, but also to give us emotional support and kindness when we need it most. This week, and all weeks, it’s important that we tip our hats to people in a profession that doesn’t generally get much recognition, but is surely very deserving of it. To all the...
