✨Employer Spotlight ✨ As National Disability ✨Employer Spotlight ✨ As National Disability Employment Awareness Month comes to a close, we wanted to highlight a local business that employs people we support. Thank you, Black Ankle Vineyards, for your outstanding commitment supporting people in competitive, integrated employment. Marie, Jessica, and Jeb all work there during the week, each with their own tasks to complete. Marie said her favorite part of working at Black Ankle is doing the laundry and sweeping. Jessica enjoys folding towels. And last but not least, Jeb said his favorite part is being in the country and working outside; it feels like a little piece of home! This year is the 80th anniversary of NDEAM and the theme is “Celebrating Value and Talent.” We wanted to share some of Community Living’s success stories before October is over! Picture 1: Burt working at New Hope United Methodist Church. He enjoys vacuuming and cleaning there. Picture 2: Colleen has been working at BJ's Restaurant for the past several years now. Picture 3: Brian works at Dunkin, maintaining custodial tasks and the cleanliness and appearance of the store. Picture 4 and 5: Timothy at Aleko's Village Cafe and Nick at Beans and Dreams Nektario's Place. They have a variety of work, from washing dishes, watering flowers, to interacting with customers. Did you know that October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month? This year is the 80th anniversary of NDEAM and the theme is “Celebrating Value and Talent.” We wanted to share some of Community Living’s success stories before October is over!
