It’s already October, and fall is in full swing. Pumpkins can be seen adorning the porch steps of businesses and homes alike, and pumpkin spice — from Oreos to Cheerios — is the most popular flavor around. There’s something refreshing about this season. As the leaves change color and the temperature slowly lowers, there’s an unmistakable feeling of change in the air.
To many, this is the best season of the year. It’s sweater weather, but not cold enough for a coat. It’s the perfect in-between. And as we gear up for Halloween, it’s the chance to appreciate some time outdoors before winter hits.
But this month also offers something else: Tomorrow is National Do Something Nice Day. Now, it might seem odd that we have a day designated for sharing a kind act with someone else. But why not have one? Even if you’re constantly giving to others, why not have another excuse to give some more?
Even with limited funds, there are so many ways to give back. From volunteering at a local organization to just paying for the coffee of the customer in front of you at Starbucks, there are endless ways to do something nice — and none are too small. Every act of kindness has the power to transform someone’s day for the better.
So tomorrow, as you’re sipping your pumpkin spice latte and noshing on that pumpkin spice cereal (because why not??), take a minute to think of something nice you can do for someone else. Who knows? You might just be on the receiving end of an act of kindness, too.
And for all those pumpkin spice lovers out there, here’s a wonderful list of all the limited edition pumpkin spice-flavored foods you can get this season.
