This morning, Community Living, Inc. was invited b This morning, Community Living, Inc. was invited back for a third time to educate the Frederick Police Academy Class about people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities and provide insights about police interactions.

Our CEO, Michael Planz, along with Sandy Reisinger, our Quality Assurance Director; Jena Ramcharran, our Community Outreach and Quality Assurance Coordinator; and Jeb and April, two self-advocates from our Self-Advocacy Committee presented the training using the curriculum by the Maryland Department of Disabilities titled “Law Enforcement and People with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities” to police cadets.

Again, it was an amazing experience to be able to provide this training and convey valuable information about intellectual and developmental disabilities and police interaction with people who have IDD. Jeb and April were especially enthusiastic about participating, and the engagement between the cadets and our self-advocates was truly inspiring.

We would like to thank the @frederickmdpolice and the Frederick Police Academy Class for hosting us today!
