Posted by on 4:24 pm in Events | 0 comments

Many of you might be familiar with Community Living’s monthly networking event, the Community Forum Night. We started the event almost a year ago with the amazing support of the Frederick County Public Libraries. We’ve grown significantly over the past 11 months, and we’re so excited to announce some major changes: New name: The event is now called the WhatsUp Community Expo! We love this name because it really shows what the event is all about: A chance to have fun, network and learn what’s going on in our community!...

We’re so excited that our first Candy Campaign is officially underway! What better way to celebrate October than with candy delivered right to your door? Participating in the Candy Campaign is super easy: Just watch our social media for the candy you like, and make ANY size donation that day. We’ll send you the candy pictured. It’s that simple! Plus, the first 4 people to donate $100 get a $50 Wegmans gift card, and the first 3 people to donate $200 get a $100 Wegmans gift card. How cool is that? There’s plenty of time...

Every day, we’re extremely grateful for the support of our amazing community. But today, we’re feeling even more thankful than usual. This morning, we had the honor of being chosen as the recipient of a donation drive conducted by The Women’s Giving Circle of Frederick County. Several members of this outstanding group of female businesswomen and leaders brought bags upon bags of toiletries and bathroom supplies for the people we serve here at CLI. We are so grateful for their generous support! And to top things off, last...

What we can learn from the eclipse

Posted by on 1:16 pm in Uncategorized | 0 comments

Who saw the eclipse yesterday?! Whether you used official eclipse glasses or made your own makeshift box viewers as some of our employees here at CLI did, you probably were pretty impressed by the view. It was amazing to see — not just what was happening so high above us, but what was going on down here on earth, too. People came together to experience this awe-inspiring act of nature. The eclipse serves as a reminder of just how small we really are, and how immense the world around us is. It also reminds us that, at the end of the day,...

Did you know…?

Posted by on 2:33 pm in Events | 0 comments

August is Family Fun Month! That’s pretty convenient, given our Community Fun Day is this Saturday (OK, that was a shameless plug, but we had to). August is also National Peach Month, Happiness Happens Month, and International Peace Month — along with about a dozen other titles. With all of those designations, it’s bound to be a fun 31 days. It’s hard to believe it’s already August. The summer is quickly winding down, and pretty soon we’ll be buying carving pumpkins and buying pumpkin spice-flavored and...
