Our Direct Support Staff work algonside our residents in their home assisting them with all the aspects of their daily life. We are looking for dedicated, caring individuals with the following:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • A strong desire to make a difference in the life of our residents
  • Experience in the developmentally disabled field is a plus, but not required as we have an extensive training program which includes PAID on the job training

Ongoing Employment Opportunities:


House Manager
Duties: The House Manager is responsible for assisting individuals to identify self-directed outcomes, and to facilitate the provision of supports necessary to achieve these outcomes. The House Manager is responsible for the overall house environment, and provides direct support and assistance to individuals receiving services. The House Manger is also responsible for the supervision of Residential Assistants in their house.
Qualifications: Must demonstrate ability to read and write, as well as show interest in and the capacity to be involved in the treatment of DD individuals. Valid drivers license required.
Salary: DOE

House Manager (49 hours)
Monday 12pm - Friday 11am
Overnights Monday - Thursday
Off-duty 9am - 3pm (Tue-Thu)


Residential Assistant
Duties: Provides supervision and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and works with House Manager to maintain day-to-day functions of the house.
Qualifications: Must demonstrate ability to read and write, as well as show interest in and the capacity to be involved in the treatment of DD individuals. Valid drivers license required.
Salary: DOE

Residential Assistant (50 hours)
Friday 3pm - Monday 9am
including overnights Friday, Saturday & Sunday

Residential Assistant Double Coverage Shift 1 (36 hours)
Monday 3pm - 9pm
T,W,Th 6am - 9am and 3pm - 9pm
Friday 6am - 9am

Residential Assistant Double Coverage Shift 2 (33 hours)
Friday 3pm - 9pm
Saturday & Sunday 9am - 9pm
Monday 6am - 9am


Substitute
Duties: On an "as needed basis", provides supervision and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and works with House Manager to maintain day-to-day functions of the house.
Qualifications: HS graduate or GED. Must be able to read and write. Show interest in working with individuals with DD. Must have excellent driving record.
Salary: DOE

Floater
Duties: Provides supervision and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities and maintains day-to-day functions of the house. Must be available to work overnights and weekends.
Qualifications: Must demonstrate ability to read and write, as well as show interest in and the capacity to be involved in the treatment of DD individuals. Valid drivers license required.

403(b) RETIREMENT SAVINGS PLAN: CLI provides a 403(b) retirement plan to help its employees achieve financial security for retirement. Employees who meet elegibility requirements for the plan can join at the onset of their employment. Contributions will be matched dollar for dolar for the first 5% of the employee's regularly scheduled earnings. To be eligable for the match you must have worked 1000 hours and been employed with CLI for 1 year.

REFERRAL BONUS PROGRAM: Community Living will pay a bonus to any staff member who refers an employee for a position with this agency. The referred employee must successfully complete six months of employment before the bonus is awarded.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT: Community Living will reimburse a portion of costs for college credit courses that directly improve employees' ability in present positions, or will increase their potential for advancement within the agency. Course grades must be B average or higher to qualify for reimbursement.

A state-mandated program is available for direct care staff member who have worked at least 1,000 hours and are taking courses while continuing to work their direct care staff position. This program is perfect for full-time employees working on their degree, and tuition reimbursement is generous. Contact Human Resouces for further information.

STATE EMPLOYEES CREDIT UNION: Community Living is a non-profit agency that receives its primary funding from the State of Maryland. Therefore, employees are eligible to join the State Employees Credit Union (SECU).

Full-time employees will become eligible for all benefits after the successful completion of their three-month introductory period.
