Wow, what a year it’s been so far! From our Spring Fling to our summer walk, we’ve enjoyed every bit of every season. We were so happy to be able to share our first-ever #CommunityStrong Walk with our community supporters, and it really was a blast! We are so grateful for the support of our friends in Frederick and beyond who came out to spend the morning with us. We are also extremely thankful for the wonderful folks at Attaboy Beer, who donated all sales of their Creek Life beer on the day of the walk to CLI. Thank you!
We are already planning our next walk, and can’t wait to see how this event grows in the future.
With July in just a few days, though, we’re doing much more looking forward than looking back. In just over two weeks, on Saturday, July 15, we’ll be at Barnes & Noble to raise funds and awareness about what we do. We’ll be at the store in Francis Scott Key Mall, here in Frederick, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. that Saturday, during which a portion of all book sales with a voucher will benefit CLI. Plus, if you buy a book online between the 15th and 20th using our bookfair ID listed on the voucher, a portion of the sales will go toward Community Living. Check out our Facebook event for details, and please be sure to invite your friends. Even if you can’t buy a book, we’d love to see you there!
But if you ask what we’re most excited about in the coming months, it’s second-annual Community Fun Day on Saturday, August 5. Remember our Community Fun Day last year? Well we’ve revamped it and are making it bigger and better than ever. We’ve got some great community vendors lined up, from Hippy Chick Hummus to Wegmans. We’ll have a face-painter for the kids (and kids at heart), and we’ll even be joined by some adorable kittens from the Frederick Animal Shelter who are looking for their forever homes. And if that’s not enough, we’ll even be joined by the amazing folks at Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt who will be selling some delicious treats to cool us off from the summer heat. This event is our way to say “thank you” for the generous support of our wonderful community, so it’s totally free to attend! We do ask that you RSVP, though.
